Sapt Rishi Ashram And Sapt Sarovr: According in legend the Saptarshis (seven sages) were deep in meditation here. The Ganga, not wanting to disturb them split herself into seven streams (sapt- sarovar) around them.

Mansa Devi Temple: The temple of goddess Mansa Devi situated at the top of Bilwa Parwat. The ropeway with its brightly colored cable takes devotees to the old hilltop to Mansa Devi.

Chandi Devi Temple:
The King of Kashmir Suchet Singh built The Chandi Devi temple at the top of Neel Parwat on river Ganga's Banks in 1929 A.D. A three km trek from Chandi Ghat, it is believed that the main status was established by the Adi Shankaracharya in 8th century A.D. It is at a distance of 6km on Neel Parwat on the other bank of River Ganga.

Maya Devi Temple: This is an ancient temple of Maya Devi the Adhisthatri deity of Haridwar, Known as one of the Siddhapeethas, said to be the places where the heart and navel of goddess sati had fallen.

Daksha Mahadev Temple: The ancient temple of Daksha Mahadev stands in the south Kankhal town. Mythology has it that king Daksha Prajapati; father of sati (Lord Shiva's first wife) performed yagya at this palace, but did not invite Lord Shiva (Mahadev). Feeling insulted, sati burnt herself in the yagya kund. Provoked by this, the ganas (followers) of Lord Shiva killed King Daksha; Later Lord Shiva brought them back to life.

Aarti: At 6:30pm (local time) every day an aarti is performed on the Ganga by worshippers. Tourist can also perform also the aarti. Candles on lotus petals floated down the river with religious hymns being played Rain or Shine, summer or winter Aarti. Starts promptly at 7:00PM and experience worth viewing.

Weather Information

The weather of the holy city of Haridwar varies between searing hot summers and extremely cold winters. It is interesting to note the remarkable temperature difference between day and night. The mercury soars up to 40.9º Celsius during the day and dips down to 15.6º Celsius at night during the sweltering summers. Winters, however, are much cooler and temperatures vary between 16.6º Celsius during the day and 0.6º Celsius at night. The driving monsoon downpours are a welcome break from the dreary summers and breathe wafts of freshness in the city.

One of India's prime pilgrimage sites, Haridwar is always teeming with devout Hindus throughout the year irrespective of its climatic conditions. For tourists, the best season for Haridwar tour would be between October to March.
